Phi Kappa Phi Announces 2020 Awards Program
College students are continuously seeking new ways in which they can finish their education without financial worry. For this reason, various awards and similar opportunities need to be taken full advantage of.
According to a recent press release, Phi Kappa Phi, which is the nation’s oldest honor society as well as one of the most selective in regards to all disciplines, is accepting applications for the 2020 awards program.
Since 1932, through this program, Phi Kappa Phi recognizes members and students in chapter campuses through $1 million in annual awards that recognize over 350 individuals.
The program for 2020 includes awards for, but not limited to, Fellowships, Study Abroad Grants, Love of Learning Awards, Literacy Grants, Scholar/Artist and Distinguished Service Awards.
These awards not only provide funding for worthy students, but they also enhance a student’s ability to learn, through graduate programs, professional development, etc.
According to Chisom Ogoke, a Phi Kappa Phi award recipient, “I’m so grateful to Phi Kappa Phi, not only for giving me the opportunity to start graduate school undistracted by finances, but also giving me the encouragement to pursue my studies knowing that my dream career is in reach and that opportunities are out there.”
For those interested in putting in their applications, current programs include Fellowships, which will award $615,000 this year, Study Abroad Grants, which will award 75 grants of $1,000 each, Literacy Grants, which will award up to $2,500 to individual members, Love of Learning Awards, which will award 200 awards at $500 each, Scholar and Artist, which will include a life membership and $1,000 donation to a nonprofit cause, and Distinguished Service, which will include a life membership and a $1,000 donation to a nonprofit cause.
